Give OUT Day will be offering over $60,000 in cash prizes as incentives to inspire LGBTQ nonprofits or groups and encourage greater donor participation in Give OUT Day. These include 15 prizes across five leaderboards for groups with the most unique donors on May 9th and twenty-four $500 Rainbow Tickets drawn hourly throughout the day.
Leaderboards will display the top 10 groups live on the Give OUT Day homepage throughout the day, with the top three eligible for cash prizes. Rankings on each leaderboard are based on the number of unique donors who contribute to a group over the course of the day and final results will be tabulated after the close of the day at 11:59pm EDT on May 9, 2013. There are five leaderboards for Give OUT Day 2013:
Organizations or projects are eligible to receive prizes in any category for which they are eligible and will automatically be entered into all leaderboards for which they are eligible based on answers given during the registration process.
There will be 24 total drawings, one at the end of each hour. The first drawing will be at 1am EDT and the last drawing will be held at midnight EDT on May 9th. Rainbow tickets will alternate between two categories:
Any individual may donate. Donations through Give OUT Day are received and receipted by Razoo Foundation, a registered 501c3 nonprofit that operates a donor advised fund to fulfill donor advisements. The donation is designated for a specific LGBTQ nonprofit or nonprofit supporting an LGBT program or group that is registered with Give OUT Day.
The minimum donation is $10 and there is no maximum donation limit. Donations are tax-deductible and irrevocable (donations will not be refunded). Contribution may be made via credit and debit card only.
The nonprofit organization will receive the full donation, less a flat rate of 4.4%, which covers the credit card processing and disbursement costs, as well as administrative costs for Give OUT Day. There is no fee to participate.
For an organization or group to participate it must first register under the guidelines adopted by the Give OUT Day. To be eligible to participate in the Give OUT Day, organizations must be either:
Organizations must certify that they are registered with the Secretary of State to conduct charitable solicitation.
Organizations will have access to donor name and contact information, unless the donor chooses to make an anonymous contribution. Give OUT Day and Razoo reserve the right to further contact the donor to thank the donor for participating, survey the donor about the experience, provide the option to opt-out to receiving future notifications from Give OUT Day, and notify the donor of future Give OUT Day activities.
Give OUT Day can modify any restrictions or conditions if, in the sole judgment of the Steering Committee, such restriction or condition becomes unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community. As such, Give OUT Day reserves the right to deny or condition the distribution of prize grants if, in the judgment of its Steering Committee, such restriction or condition becomes necessary.
