QCC is a multiracial, community-building organization that promotes the artistic, economic and cultural development of SF's LGBT community.

The Queer Cultural Center (QCC) is San Francisco's virtual arts and cultural center serving LGBTQ artists and arts enthusiasts.

Since its founding in 1993, QCC has acted as a presenting and development resource for diverse queer-identified artists in the San Francisco Bay Area. Founded by queer-activists and artists, our various programs have helped artists to exhibit and present their artistic work and receive foundation and government dollars that would otherwise be inaccessible.

We believe in building community from the ground up and annually commission approximately 20 diverse queer artists to create new work exploring the modern queer experience through the Creating Queer Community (CQC) program. This program also gives artists in-depth training on fundraising, marketing and artistic skills necessary to survive as a professional artist.

From there, we work with many of our artists as fiscally sponsored projects to ensure the development of successful queer arts organizations that diversify the arts ecosystem. Some organizations that have grown out of QCC include Fresh Meat Productions/Sean Dorsey Dance, the Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project and RADAR Productions.

Our annual National Queer Arts Festival (NQAF) has presented over 1,800 LGBTQ artists including Bill T. Jones, Alice Walker, Robert Rauschenberg, Ester Hernanez, Adrienne Rich, Marga Gomez, Justin Chin, Cherrie Moraga and Dorothy Allison (for a more complete list of artists, please watch our "QCC A-Z" video. This year, we will host a visual arts exhibition and 19 different events all exploring intersections of the queer experience! For more info, visit: queerculturalcenter.org/NQAF

We also present programs throughout the year! Our Healthy Communities programs address queer medical, mental health and community issues through artistic avenues and our Queer Conversations on Culture and the Arts bring together artists, writers, filmmakers and scholars for conversations to discuss a broad range of topics in the humanities and the arts.

All of these programs, of course, and documented and archived on QueerCulturalCenter.org which receives over 700,000 visits a year from people looking to expand their knowledge about queer arts.

A donation to QCC solidifies your commitment to the continued development of diverse queer artists in the Bay Area!
